ENGL 3200.4: Advanced Writing and Research

During my time at kids club I’ve noticed how different students interact with each other. I would say that my group goes along with what you would typically expect with a group of 3rd and 4th graders. The louder, tougher kids are the leaders of the group, while the quieter kids seem to be more of the followers. I notice this more with the boys, probably because there are only four girls in the class with the other eleven being boys. Even with the small sample size, it seems to be different with the girls. The one girl in the class who is louder and more aggressive than the other three isn't the leader. I would actually say she’s probably played with the least. I thought it was interesting how with girls, being aggressive doesn’t seem to be viewed as a good thing by the other students, but it is for the boys. I’m curious as to when these differences started to take place between the sexes.
